Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission, to James L Barker, Clerk to the Guardians of the Tynemouth Poor Law Union, acknowledging the letter of 18 February 1839, concerning the appointment and payment of the valuers of Cowpen township. They want to know if the rate per day applies severally or collectively and also the number of days the valuers will be employed. [Folio 313 is a small paper tag.] Paper number: 1197/B/1839.
