Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission, to R Barker [Richard Barker] and James L Barker, Clerks to the Guardians of the Tynemouth Poor Law Union, acknowledging their letters of 20 August 1838 and 30 August 1838, sanctioning the appointment of Holdroyd [John Holdroyd] and Brown [Isaac Brown] to value lands and farms in Newsham and South Blyth township. They are to be remunerated at £3 3s per day as proposed in the guardians letter of 30 August 1838. [Folio 267 is a small paper tag.] Paper number: 6281/B/1838. See also Paper number: 6500/B/1838.
