Folio 224. Letter from Joseph Lowndes, Clerk to the Guardians of the Wolstanton and Burslem Union, to the Poor Law Commission, relating to the forthcoming election of guardians, saying that 5 April this year would be a Sunday, and that under article 11 of the General Election Order of the 16 January 1845 the papers will be delivered on the 6 April, and, presumably, will alter the subsequent days for collecting these. He also asked whether it was correct to insert the following dates in the published notice as required by Article 7: For delivering voting papers - 6 April. For collecting voting papers - 8 April. To attend the 'Board Room' on the 11 April and the following days, if necessary, to ascertain the number of votes given for each candidate. Annotated: the usual reply. Paper number: 3071/B/1846. Poor Law Union Number 415. Counties: Staffordshire.
