Folios 192-193. Letter from Joseph Lowndes, Clerk to the Guardians of the Wolstanton and Burslem Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, acknowledging receipt of their letter Paper number: 15696/B/1845 in reply to his letter of 6 December 1845 realtion to the letting of the Burslem Workhouse premises. With the Commission's letter were enclosed documents addressed by the Commission to the late J P Harding, Solicitor, of Burslem in December 1841, relating to the interest of Ralph Sneyd, Lord of the Manor in the premises. The lease of the land, buildings and erections in Greenhead, Burslem, by Sneyd to the guardians, dated 29 September 1841, is enclosed. Enclosure: lease, dated 29 September 1841, between Ralph Sneyd and the guardians of the Wolstanton and Burslem Union, of a piece of land called Greenhead, Burslem, for 500 years at rent of 1 shilling per annum. Annotation: Mr Lumley [William Golden Lumley, Assistant Secretary to the Poor Law Board]. Paper number: 16320/B/1845. Poor Law Union Number 415. Counties: Staffordshire.
