Folios 183-185. Letter from Joseph Lowndes, Clerk to the Guardians of the Wolstanton and Burslem Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, acknowledging receipt of the Commission's letter Paper number: 14272/B/1845 of 21 November 1845, about the proposed letting of Burslem Workhouse to the Board of Ordnance. A meeting of ratepayers and owners of property in the parish of Burslem has been held, and consent of owners and ratepayers was obtained. Enclosed are Letting of Parish Property Forms 5, 6 and 7. Enclosures: Letting of Parish Property Form 5. Notice is given that a meeting will be held at the Vestry Room of the Parish Church on 5 December 1845 to consent to the letting of parish property: the building formerly used as the Burslem Parish Workhouse, at Greenhead, Burslem. Signed by Edward B Squire (Minister), George Baker (Churchwarden), William Wainwright Potts (Churchwarden), William Bagnall (Overseer), William [name illegible] (Overseer). Enclosure: Letting of Parish Property Form 6. 'Resolution entered in Vestry Book' concerning the letting of property at Greenhead, Burslem, (formerly the parish workhouse) the produce to go to the permanent advantage of the parish. Signed by Edward B Squire (Minister and Chairman), George Baker (Churchwarden), William Wainwright Potts (Churchwarden), William Bagnall (Overseer), William [name illegible] (Overseer). Enclosure: Letting of Parish Property Form 7. 'Certificate of Minister, Churchwardens and Overseers, of the Forms of Act having been complied with', concerning the letting of property at Burslem.
