Letter from Joseph Lowndes, Clerk to the Guardians of the Wolstanton and Burslem Poor Law Union, acknowledging receipt of their letter Paper number: 15135/B/1845 of 25 November 1845, and enclosing the completed form relating to the appointment of Catherine Milner as Workhouse Servant and Nurse. Enclosure: The form shows Milner, currently of Cheadle, is a nurse at the workhouse there. The salary to be £15 per annum. The post became vacant after the resignation of Jane Birks. Annotation: write to the guardians of the Cheadle Union and enquire about Catherine Milner's conduct while she was employed at the Cheadle Workhouse. Paper number: 15333/B/1845. Poor Law Union Number 415. Counties: Staffordshire.
