Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to Joseph Lowndes, Clerk to the Guardians of the Wolstanton and Burslem Poor Law Union, acknowledging receipt of his letter of 11 September 1845 and sanctioning the proposed salary of the treasurers. The Commission requests clarification of the reference to parochial accounts, and whether the treasurer keeps a separate account with each parish in the union. Paper number: 12640/B/1845.
