1 individual petition from David Ring convicted at the Middlesex Sessions of 11 February 1833 for assault with intent to ravish. There is a certificate of ill health signed by Henry Wakefield, the surgeon at the House of Correction, dated 25 April 1834, and as a result of this a visiting magistrate, recommends, 26 April 1834, remission of remaining sentence. Grounds for clemency: 'being afflicted with the scurvy to such a degree as nearly to be deprived of the use of his limbs'. Initial sentence: 2 years imprisonment. Annotated: Remission prepared 9 May 1834. ET 26.
