Description

Folio 20: William Stone, aged 16, Convict; disease or hurt, phlegmon. Put on sick list, 28 May 1835, at sea. Discharged, 6 June 1835. For two weeks he had suffered a small hard enlargement over the point of the olecranon process of the left ulna preventing him from bending his arm.

Folios 20-21: William [Marmond or Hammond], aged 18, Convict; disease or hurt, otitis. Put on sick list, 3 June 1835, at sea. Discharged, 21 June 1835. He had been subject to pain in his right ear form the age of 10 and that it had suppurated and discharged on occasion. He had not suffered an attack for more than a year.

Folio 21: William [Tucknell], aged 20, Convict; disease or hurt, vulnus. Put on sick list, 3 June 1835, at sea. Discharged, 21 June 1835. Bruised toe from a cask, requiring the nail to be removed.

Folios 21-22: Edward [Drew], aged 17, Convict; disease or hurt, phlegmon. Put on sick list, 3 June 1835, at sea. Discharged, 21 June 1835. A large hard painful and highly inflamed boil situated over the [...] of the deltoid muscle of the right arm.

Folio 22: Robert [Groves], aged 16, Convict; disease or hurt, vulnus. Put on sick list, 3 June 1835, at sea. Discharged, 21 June 1835. While 'skylarking' at breakfast he was hit on the head by the edge of his chum's tin pot, dividing his scalp for an inch or so.

Folio 23: William Watson, aged 22, Convict; disease or hurt, psora. Put on sick list, 10 June 1835, at sea. Discharged, 25 June 1835. Numerous small watery pimples situated between the [fingers], on the inner part of the wrists, the [skirts] of the abdomen and the inside of the thighs.

Folio 23: William [Kentick], aged 22, Convict; disease or hurt, dysuria. Put on sick list, 10 June 1835, at sea. Discharged, [25] June 1835. Felt a good deal of pain and difficulty in micturating.

Folio 26: Edward Thompson, aged 21, Convict; disease or hurt, phlegmon. Put on sick list, 20 June 1835, at sea. Discharged, 30 June 1835. A small hard inflamed boil over the external condyloid process of the left humerus.

Folio 26: Thomas Kirke, aged 25, Convict; disease or hurt, cynanche tonsillaris. Put on sick list, 20 June 1835, at sea. Discharged, 30 June 1835. Complained of headache, thirst, frequent rigors and warm flushings, pain in both ears, slightly oppressed respiration and a painful difficulty in deglutition.

Folio 28: Lewis Levy, aged 24, Convict; disease or hurt, vulnus. Put on sick list, 21 June 1835, at sea. Discharged, 30 June 1835. Fell while getting into his hammock, contusing the inner part of his right leg and bleeding a lot.

Folio 28: William [Gily], aged 36, Convict; disease or hurt, vulnus. Put on sick list, 21 June 1835, at sea. Discharged, 30 June 1835. Badly cut his left foot on an iron shard being used in cleaning the large prison.

Folio 29: Thomas Boyd, aged 25, Convict; disease or hurt, rheumatism. Put on sick list, 21 June 1835, at sea. Discharged, 30 June 1835. Complained of a fixed pain in his left arm where there appeared to be considerable chronic enlargement.

Folio 29: James Mann, aged 23, Convict; disease or hurt, catarrhus. Put on sick list, 23 June 1835, at sea. Discharged, 1 July 1835. Complained of pain in his eyes and forehead, frequent sneezing, slight hoarseness and a disinclination to move about.

Folio 29: Francis Clarke, aged 27, Convict; disease or hurt, vulnus. Put on sick list, 23 June 1835, at sea. Discharged, 2 July 1835. The little finger of his right hand was badly cut when he tried to retrieve his knife from another prisoner who had taken it.
