Under the War Damage (Valuation Appeals) Act, 1945, the jurisdiction to decide certain questions arising under the War Damage Act, 1943, was conferred on the War Damage Valuation Appeals Panel who were appointed by the Lord Chancellor. Previously, under the War Damage Acts, 1941 and 1943, an appeal lay from a determination of the War Damage Commission to one of the panel of referees appointed under the Finance (1909-1910) Act 1910 in accordance with rules made by the Reference Committee.The Lands Tribunal (War Damage Appeals Jurisdiction) Order, 1950 transferred the jurisdiction of the panel to the Lands Tribunal.
