Folios 304-306. Letter from Joseph Lowndes, Clerk to the Guardians of the Wolstanton and Burslem Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, concerning the sale of Wolstanton workhouse. Enclosed Form A Notice of a Meeting to Consent to sale of Workhouse; and Form B Resolution entered in Vestry Book together with a certificate signed by the minister, churchwardens and overseer, confirming the act has been complied with. Mr Lowndes requests that an order for the sale be issued. Enclosed: Sale of Parish Property Form 5. Notice is given that a meeting will be held at the Wolstanton Vestry Room on 28 January 1841 at 11am. to consent to the selling of parish property: namely all that freehold building, lately used as the parish workhouse, situate, lying and being at or near the Marsh in the parish of Wolstanton with the land and appurtenances thereto belonging, containing by admeasurement including the scite of the Building 2060 square yards of land or thereabouts. 15 January 1841. Signed by: John Tyson, Minister; Edward Wood, Richard Ledward, Churchwardens; Joseph Capper Overseer Sale of Parish Property Form 6.
