- Folios 244-245. Letter from John D Taylor [John Dobede Taylor], Clerk to the to the Guardians of the Bishop's Stortford Poor Law Union, to E C [Edwin Chadwick], Secretary to the Poor Law Commission, referring to a letter of the 24 June 1843 in which he reported the medical officers had been reappointed at the same salary, with the exception of those of Great and Little Hadham. Taylor had inadvertantly omitted the fact that the salary of Mr Hodson had been reduced by £10 to £60 per annum which Hodson accepted and the Board thinks this a fair remuneration. Annotated: Taylor should be more careful in the future with his reporting. Recommendation of salary as stated. Paper number: 13565/A/1844. Poor Law Union number 167. Counties: Hertfordshire and Essex.
