Folio 23: John Thompson, aged about 23, [capacity not recorded]; disease or hurt, suddenly seized with chilliness, headache, pain in his back and limbs. Taken ill, 3 May 1798, Antigua. Discharged 6 May 1798 [folio 24].
Folio 23: Alexander Allen, aged about 24, [capacity not recorded]; disease or hurt, chilliness, headache, nausea, pain in his back and uneasiness, his tongue was foul and he was very thirsty. Taken ill, 4 May 1798, near Guadeloupe. Discharged to Martinique Hospital, 8 May 1798 [folio 25].

Folio 24: William Lamb, aged about 25; David Leech; Charles Umphries [Humphries]; Thomas Bampton; Bryan; George Carter; John Brown; disease or hurt, prevailing symptoms vertigo, headache, chilliness, pain or rather weakness in the back, some complained of violent pain and heaviness over the eyes, increased by the approach of a light. Taken ill, 6 May 1798, Dominique. Discharged to Martinique Hospital, 8 May 1798 [folio 25], except George Carter and John Brown [folio 26].
Folio 24: Note in remarks column about the current ill health on the ship. Similar to comment on folio 22 about Guinea slave ship, information about the health of the slave ship is from a young man who acted as their surgeon's mate.
Folio 25: No new cases. Note in remarks column alongside death of William Breming and discharges to Martinique Hospital that the fever on board is 'probably of the yellow kind or that denominated by some bilious [remittant]'.
Folio 26: Thomas Cluff; John Brown; George Carther; Robert Roberts; John Barnett, Marine; Murphy; Owen Cunningham; disease or hurt, in general affected with headache, chilliness and for the most part the same symptoms as those of yesterday. Taken ill, 8 May 1798, Martinique. Discharged to Martinique Hospital, 8 May 1798 [folio 26]. Sent to hospital on advice of Dr Blair, physician of the fleet because the surgeon had no assistant and was obliged to be up most of the night.
Folio 26: Note in remarks column that Dr Blair advised that everyone ill should be sent to the hospital so the ship could be smoked and fumigated. Fumigation was carried out using the nitrous acid recommended by Dr C Smyth. At present 10 [pumpkins] are in use.
