Description

1 letter (William R Rons [William R Rones], convict's employer of Wanstead House, Walsham) on behalf of William Harvey, 30 years of Boldre, Lymington [Hampshire], convicted at the Hampshire Summer Assizes at Winchester in July 1832, for robbery. There is also a letter from Sir Harry Neale, Walhampton, Lymington, Hampshire dated 23 July 1832 advising that the convict worked for Mr Rons [Mr Rones]. Gaoler's report: 'character bad'. Grounds for clemency: previous good character and honest when working for Mr Rons [Mr Rones] as a farming servant. Initial sentence: death, commuted to transportation for life. Annotated: nil. GR 35
