1 individual petition (convict) on behalf of John Gibbens Adams [John Gibbons Adams], 27 years, convicted at the Oxford Quarter Sessions in July 1832, for larceny, property of William Smith of Oxford. There is also a covering letter from Jacob Adams Daventry, convict's father enclosing petition dated 9 September 1832. Gaoler's report: 'character unknown'. Grounds for clemency: first offence, wants to stay in England and serve his sentence, contrition and regret at this actions and has aged and afflicted parents who are in distress. Initial sentence: 7 years transportation, held on Justitia hulk at Woolwich. Annotated: nil - 13 September 1832. GR 26
