1 recommendation list (Captain Twikham, overseer, William Tate, Chaplain of the York hulk at Portsmouth and John Henry Capper, superintendent) on behalf of:

  • Henry Mayhew, 28 years, convicted at Beccles on 23 April 1827 for stealing pigs. Time served: 4 years 5 months and 7 days. Gaol report: bad, once reported bad having had a pair of boots at a private house, general conduct has been very good. Ship number 165. [Name crossed through.]
  • John King, 20 years, convicted at Newgate on 31 May 1827, for stealing stockings. Time served: 4 years and 4 months. Gaol report: good, reported bad March 1828 for being noisy, and [sky larking] although general conduct good. Ship book number 175.

There is also a letter from Robert Norris of Tatterford near Fakenham, Norfolk dated 24 September 1831 enclosing a letter from 2 overseers and 7 inhabitants of Little Walsingham, Norfolk dated 24 September 1831 regarding the convict John Shepherd [John Sheppherd] stating they have no objection to his remission. Grounds for clemency: have served more than half of their respective sentences and good behaviour during confinement. Initial sentence: 7 years. Annotated: pardon prepared 28 October 1831. GQ 16
