Enrolments of deeds and instruments relating to the purchase, sale, lease and exchange of foreshores which, as Crown lands, were subject to the provisions for enrolment in the Office of Land Revenue Records and Enrolments.
These enrolments by books date from the period after responsibility for the management of foreshores had passed from the Office of Woods, Forests and Land Revenues to the Board of Trade in 1886, and subsequently to the Ministry of Shipping (1939-1941) and the Ministry of War Transport.
