Folio 5: [surgeon's note] at about 5.30 pm. of the 26th April, Mary Martin the mother of [Emma Martin] procured a few drops of tincture of opium from the nurse without my knowleage, under the false pretext of easing the tooth ache, it appears she gave to her infant, which evidently suffered from the laudanum and died the next morning at about 7 am.
