Description

Folios 105-126. Zanzibar: code 448, file 4900, paper 22234.

Sent by Basil S Cave, the British Agency and Consulate General, Zanzibar (ref 57) on 28/05/1906.

Transmits two memoranda from Judge Lindsey Smith, 21 December 1905 and 26 May 1906 maintaining view that it is only by Sultan's Courts that native Christian marriages can be dissolved; C J B Hurst writes to Judge Smith unofficially, stating that he cannot agree with this view.
