Letter from Captain Robert Moorsom aboard Astrea off Sheerness, Kent, referring to a plan once intended for the island of Diego Garcia, stating that it may prove a useful resource to the fleet that (he is told) is going to India, and noting that its excellent harbour is free from the violent hurricanes suffered by other islands in the Indian Ocean.
