Folio 68: John Barrett, Seaman, aged 22; disease or hurt, cold shivering, general pains and vomiting, considerable degree of fever. Taken ill, 27 March 1799, at anchor in Tetuan [Tetouan] Bay. Discharged to duty, 10 Apri 1799.
Folio 68: John Brown, Quartermaster, aged 50; disease or hurt, pain in head and breast, difficulty of respiration and degree of fever. Taken ill, 10 April 1799, at anchor in Tetuan [Tetouan] bay. Discharged to duty, 14 April 1799. Described as 'a man that drinks hard'.
Folio 68: Morris Brennon [also Maurice Brenan], Seaman, aged 26; disease or hurt, vomiting, pain in the bowels and head, costiveness, vomits a good deal of bile. Taken ill, 13 April 1799, Tetuan [Tetouan] Bay. Discharged to duty, 19 April 1799.
Folio 69: Henry Lynn, Seaman, aged 42; disease or hurt, headache and thirst, full, hard and quick pulse, with a hot dry skin. Taken ill, 12 April 1799, at anchor in Tetuan [Tetouan] Bay. Discharged to duty, 6 May 1799.
Folio 70: Joseph Johns, Seaman, aged 35; disease or hurt, pain in his head and stomach, with sickness and some pain in back, hard, full, quick pulse, dirty tongue, yellowness all over his body and a great thirst. Taken ill, 15 April 1799, at anchor in Tetuan [Tetouan] Bay. Discharged to duty, 2 May 1799.
Folio 71: Mr Fuller, Midshipman, aged 25; disease or hurt, cold shivering, pain in the head and back, some little inclination to vomit, great thirst. Taken ill, 15 April 1799, at anchor in Tetuan [Tetouan] Bay. Discharged to duty, 19 April 1799.
Folio 71: Erick [Nastroom], Seaman, aged 30; disease or hurt, pain in his breast, cough and constant spitting of blood, some degree of fever, great debility and thirst, pulse hard and quick, skin hot and dry. Taken ill, 19 April 1799, at anchor in Tetuan [Tetouan] Bay. Treatment continues folio 74. Died 7 May 1799. Seen to spit up some arterial blood. Had a similar illness two years previously from which he had difficulty recovering.
Folio 72: John Thompson, Seaman, aged 26; disease or hurt, general pains with vomiting and thirst, hard, full quick pulse, contracted pupil, brown dirty tongue, pale sallow countenance with great anxiety. Taken ill, 26 April 1799, at sea near Gibraltar. Discharged to duty, 4 May 1799. Was a painter by trade.
Folio 72: Joseph Divine, Seaman, aged 20; disease or hurt, cold shiverings, pain in his limbs and vomiting, a good deal of fever, hot dry skin, dirty tongue. Taken ill, 5 May 1799, cruising near Gibraltar. Discharged to duty, 14 May 1799.
Folio 73: John Prode, Seaman, aged 42; disease or hurt, fell down the main hatchway when drunk, received a blow on the back of the head and back, in a state of stupor either from the blow or from drink. Taken ill, 25 April 1799, at sea near Gibraltar. Discharged to duty, 30 April 1799.
Folio 73: William Budd, Marine, aged 22; disease or hurt, cold shiverings, headache and pain in limbs, hard, full, quick pulse, great thirst and vomiting. Taken ill, 30 April 1799, Tetuan [Tetouan] Bay. Discharged to duty, 18 May 1799.

Folio 76: Mark Morton, Seaman, aged 25; disease or hurt, pains in head and bowels, continual inclination to go to stool with a thin slimy discharge of mucus. Taken ill, 27 May 1799, at sea in the Mediterranean. Discharged to duty, 20 June 1799.
Folio 77: Morris Brennon [Maurice Brenan], Seaman, aged 24; disease or hurt, griping pain in bowels, a constant desire to go to stool without any relief, stools shiny mucus stained with blood. Taken ill, 20 May 1799, at sea near Minorca. Discharged to duty 24 May 1799.
Folio 77: Thomas Divine, Seaman, aged 32; disease or hurt, cold shivering, pains in the head and limbs, some inclination to vomit. Taken ill, 27 May 1799, at sea in the Mediterranean. Discharged to duty, 6 June 1799.
Folio 78: Michael Moore, Seaman, aged 28; disease or hurt, cold shivering, pain in head and limbs, with vomiting. Taken ill, 25 May 1799, at sea near Menorca. Discharged to duty, 1 June 1799.

Folio 79: John Newman, Seaman, aged 32; disease or hurt, pain in breast and limbs, difficulty in respiration, hard, laboured, quick pulse. Taken ill, 25 May 1799, at sea near Majorca. Discharged to duty, 12 June 1799.
Folio 80: John Levy, Seaman, aged 27; disease or hurt, pains in his breast, very severe cough, spits a thick offensive kind of matter, some symptomatic fever, very debilitated. Taken ill, 26 June 1799, in the Mediterranean. No date of discharge, instead the surgeon's remark that Levy was hectic and that he intended to send him on shore at the first opportunity.
Folio 81: Patrick Henley, Seaman, aged 26; disease or hurt, cold shiverings, vomiting and pain in all his limbs. Taken ill, 15 July 1799, in the Mediterranean. Discharged to duty, 24 July 1799.
Folio 81: William Hughes, Seaman, aged 29; disease or hurt, pain in the bowels, constant inclination to stool with a discharge of slime and mucus, great thirst and vomits small quantity of bile. Taken ill, 16 July 1799, in the Mediterranean. Discharged to duty, 26 July 1799.
Folio 82: Henry Lynne, Seaman, aged 42; disease or hurt, griping pain in bowels, a frequent discharge of mucus in his stools, coloured with blood, some pain in his head and a great deal of fever. Taken ill, 16 July 1799, at sea in the Mediterranean. Died 21 July 1799. Remarks on the illness which appeared to have been flux but was not a typical case. Although a great perspiration was produced and maintained, the disease was not abated.
Folio 83: John Gillespie, Seaman, aged 24; disease or hurt, violent pain in the belly, vomiting, hard, full quick pulse, belly very hard and painful, vomits a good deal of bile. Taken ill, 23 July 1799, at anchor in Tetuan Bay. Still on the recovery list at end of journal, 27 July 1799.
Folio 83: Remarks, 'This day I left the ship and [crew recovering] very fast. There was no other complaint at the time worth relation'.Signed Reginald Williams, Surgeon.

Folio 86: General Remarks. 'I have not in this journal, taken any notice of scurvy, as I found they all speedily recovered by lemon juice and cleanliness and the cases of rheumatism were mostly slight and did well'.
