Copy letter from R Barlow, Chatham Dock to Navy Board. Have inspected Report of Committee appointed to consider the Scheme of Task and Job Work for Sailmakers. The prices proposed, with the exceptions marked in red in the margin, bear a fair proportion to each other and will allow the men to earn half as much more than a single day's pay at the rate proposed by the Board of Instruction to the Committee. Agree with the Committee there should be no difference in prices when working with dipped twine or twine waxed by hand. Men superintending taking sails from stores, surveying and measuring sails made by contract and helping to cut new sails, should be paid to the general earnings of those employed by Task and Job..
