Description

Copy letter from the Commander of the Hull Sloop Erebus stating the circumstances in which he asked the Master of a small coasting sloop to board the Erebus, lying off Port Patrick, and pilot it to Greenock, as the boat was bound for Port Glasgow. He had seemed unwilling, but had boarded the Erebus as a result of falling overboard. On entering the Clyde another man took charge of the safe passage and anchorage at Greenock..
