William Wesley Pole. Commissioner Middleton has applied to be paid for his, and his family's passage to Gibraltar in the Atalanta merchant ship, on his appointment as Resident Commissioner there. Although a precedent cannot be found for a similar allowance to a Commissioner, in the account of Mr Oben, Naval Officer at Lisbon, a charge was allowed by their Lordships in September 1804 for the passage of Commissioner Coffin and servants from Lisbon to Falmouth and travelling expenses from there to London.
