William Wellesley Pole. The agents for Benjamin Bowker request that an affidavit to the issue of slops be dispensed so that they can receive his pay for service as acting Purser of the Culloden. Note that an Admiralty order requires an affidavit to the issue of slops from either the Captain's Clerk or the Purser's steward in the event of the Purser's death and no reason has been given why one of those affidavits cannot be given.
