William Wellesley Pole. Captain Northey, the Regulating Captain at Limerick, reports that the Perseverance tender, commanded by Lieutenant Mounier, arrived at Limerick in an unfit condition and with only six crew members, virtually all unfit for service. The ship had been sent to Kinsale for repairs and spent nearly ten months there and Captain Northey suspects collusion between the Lieutenant and the ship's owner. The ship has been ordered to sail to Portsmouth with a new crew and Captain Northey has asked for an enquiry into the conduct of the Lieutenant. Recommend that an enquiry be ordered.
