Hon. William Wellesley Pole. The Allowances authorised by Admiralty order of October 1801 to be paid to members of the Board for carriage hire and subsistence, are inadequate and every member who has had to travel on public service has spent considerably more than the allowance. Expenses have increased since the allowances were established and request 2s. a mile or the actual expense of chaise hire and 40s. a day for subsistence
