William Wellesley Pole. Commissioner Middleton at Gibraltar, has contracted for building the Victualling Storehouses and Cooperage offices for landing and taking off provisions at Rosia, in accordance with the approved plan. Are sending the progress. Captain Landman of the Engineers reports there is a mistake in the calculation made by Mr Boschetti relating to yards in walls and pillars for the storehouses, and the sum has been added to the original estimate. Charles Holloway opines a qualified person should superintend the work. Ask for the contractor to be provided with such soldiers as are required for miners, masons and labourers and the necessary instructions be sent to the Governor. Opine that one of the Engineers of the Garrison should be appointed to oversee the works, and ask for instructions.
