William Wesley Pole. There are deficiencies in the accounts of Captain R I Neve, Commander of the Cumberland and Captain I H Wright of the Cynthia and the Vincejo. An order has been received to pay Captain Neve without passing accounts, as he is dead. No books or papers have been received relating to the Vincejo, but in cases of capture the Lords of the Admiralty generally, after the Court Martial, direct that documents necessary for passing accounts can be dispensed with. Until some of the Officers of the Vincejo return to England, the Court Martial cannot take place. Ask for directions to dispense with his accounts in view of the Captain's death.
