Description (What the record is about)
-
William Wellesley Pole. There is an imprest against Lord Keith. Opine that the only new points raised in Lord Keith's latest letter relate to his citation of the commission paid to Mr. Lindegren to purchase Naval stores on the Continent as precedent for the commission Keith paid to Mr. Meek to purchase shoes in Sicily. Opine for reasons stated that the comparison is not apt. Analyze at length the overlapping commissions paid to Mr. Brown, to Mr. Tough, the Consul at Palermo, and to Mr. Meek for the purchase of the shoes. Opine that there is no reason to reconsider the Board's previous decision on Lord Keith's claim and question why the Admiralty, having agreed with the Board, have allowed Keith to reopen the matter. Complain of Lord Keith's indecorous language.
