William Marsden. We are informed that before the £5,000 in dollars were put on the Herald, the Portsmouth Commissioner had taken 25,000 dollars from the Pay Office at Portsmouth and put them on the Herald so they exceeded the amount originally intended for Malta. Propose the £5,000 in dollars should replace those shipped on the Herald from a further quantity and be made up to be sent from Town. Huskisson's letter directed us not to purchase any dollars without communication with the Treasury.
