Description

William Marsden. Are sending a copy letter received from Mr. Wilkins, Agent for Lieutenant William Coote, late of the Cerebus, who lost both eyes by enemy action off Martinique. The College of Surgeons have examined his case. Since 1730 Officers who lose an eye or limb are entitled to a gratuity equal to one year's pay. As his loss is greater suggest he is entitled to two year's pay
