William Marsden. Lieutenant Baly of the impress service at Liverpool asks to be allowed to charge the customary pay of the Regulating Officer for the time he acted in the Captain's absence, in his accounts. Gives the rates of pay and subsistence for a Captain and Lieutenant. It is not the practice to allow a Lieutenant the pay of a Captain when left in charge in the Captain's absence. There is no objection to his charging payments made for the rendezvous and for the gangs
