Description

William Marsden. Mr Robert Wylie, late Master of the Swallow, Sloop, has requested that the want of his Logbook, Journals and Certificates may be dispensed with, claiming that they were lost in a Drogger that had been captured in Mounts Bay by a French Privateer. State how he appears on the books of the Swallow from December 1799 to April 1801, when he was sentenced by a Court Martial. Opine that, as no satisfactory explanation of the loss of his papers has been received, they ought not to be dispensed with.
