Description

William Marsden. Captain Sawyer, the Officer appointed to comptrol the payment of HM ships at Plymouth, has written stating that his boats' crews are often detained beyond normal hours in the course of their duty and asking if they might receive an additional allowance. Suggest an additional sixpence per day and cite the example of the crews of the Clerk of the Cheque's boats.
