Description

Copy of a letter from Commissioner Hope to the Commissioners of the Navy detailing the circumstances surrounding the presumed desertion of Mr William Walker, late Carpenter of the Africaine, Ship, in Ordinary at Chatham, which led to his name being marked with an R on the Muster Book. Also deals with Mr Walker's petition to have it erased and comments on his dehabilitated state and apparent mental derangement..
