Description

William Marsden. Captain B. Harward has written asking to be paid for the time he acted as Lieutenant and Commander of the Nelly Schooner, from April to June 1805, whilst under the orders of Admiral Montagu, Rear Admiral Cochrane and Vice Admiral Lord Nelson and employed in carrying dispatches. Lieutenant Harward had been discharged to the Nelly from the Endymion in April 1805 and had entered on the Northumberland in June 1805. Because the Nelly belonged to the Army Department and was not in Sea Victualling, no books are available from her. Opine that Lieutenant Harward should be paid 5 shillings a day and compensation for 1 servant.
