Description

Sir Charles from I. Park, Master Attendant at Portsmouth. Despite every effort to keep a clear passage, transports are moored in the way of men of war and in the event of a ship getting into difficulty, it is almost impossible to avoid collision. Today, the Ganges leaving harbour in a fresh breeze was taken aback off Point Beach and it was necessary to moor the ship. This was prevented by the Indefatigable armed transport and another transport obstructing the mooring.
