Description (What the record is about)
-
Philip Stephens. The agents at Greenock are to appropriate ships now fitting in the Clyde, for the 31st Regiment of foot: Lilly, Mermaid, Patty, Rainbow, Hunter, Monimia, Lilly and Boyd. They will go to Cork and from there to North America. The agents are to give notice to the Commander-in-Chief of HM Forces in Scotland, of the time when they will be ready, in order to regulate the march of the Regiment to Glasgow. More tonnage now fitting in the Clyde is needed for the 6 Regiments at Cork, leaving sufficient for the Highlanders embarking in the Clyde. Ask for the number of troops in order to make dispositions
