Description

Extract of a letter from Lieutenant Francis Evans to the Board, the Fox transport, St. George's Bay, Granada. The Fox and Palliser Transport anchored here on the 20th. The Russian Merchant transport on the 21st. and the 3 Companies of HM 48th Regiment, on board the Palliser, landed at St. George Town on the 22nd. On the 25th the Palliser received 2 companies of HM 48th Regiment from the Fox, to convey them to Barbados Bay in the Tobago Island, to relieve the 2 companies of the 70th Regiment. She will go to St. Vincent to wait further orders from General Leyborne. The Russian merchant is now under way for Roseau in the Dominica transport, where she will land the 2nd company of the 48th Regiment, embark the 2nd Company of the 70th Regiment and go to St. Vincent to wait further orders from General Leyborne. Expects to sail today for Chateau-bel-Air in St. Vincent to land the 3 companies of the 48th Regiment, to refit the Fox transport, either there or here and to receive the troops of the 70th Regiment that are to return to Chateau-bel-Air for a detachment of the 70th Regiment and to wait there for further orders from General Leyborne. The Palliser sails today and anchors at Goyave, Granada, to complete her water on the passage to Tobago
