Description (What the record is about)
-
Philip Stephens. The present establishment of superannuation in favour of Shipwrights and Caulkers in the Yards is to be extended to one for every 40 instead of one for every 50 borne upon the books in the Yards. An order in Council directs that aged, infirm and disabled persons of the other denominations in the Yards should be established for superannuation. Have published the scheme in the several yards who have sent lists of persons who appear to be the most proper objects for superannuation and are sending copies with an account of the number of each class of Artificers at present borne for the charge to be inserted in the net Ordinary estimate. Observe there are several Quartermen, who are old and infirm and hope they will be preferred before the common Artificers
