Description

Philip Stephens. The present Reed House at Chatham is an old weather boarded building and almost in ruins. It is near the new store mast houses building and nearly finished, which may damage the building in case of fire. Are sending a plan of the north east part of the yard, showing the Old Reed House and new mast houses and propose to take down the Old Reed House and rebuild one of brick on the marsh near the water with a small wharf for barges to deliver the Reed, the Marsh being the property of the Crown, belongs to the Naval department and are sending an estimate
