Description

Philip Stephens. Lieutenant William Blair informs us he commanded the Deal Castle from October 1765 to March 1766 by order of Commodore Harrison in place of Captain Dent, who was sick on shore at Minorca and asks to be paid the difference of his pay as Lieutenant of the Centurion and Captain of the Deal Castle. How Mr. Blair is borne on the books. As he is borne as Acting Captain of the Deal Castle, opine he should be paid for the time he acted and the difference of pay between Lieutenant of the Centurion and Captain of the Deal Castle should be abated from Captain Dent's half pay and paid to Lieutenant Blair.
