Philip Stephens. The building slip at Chatham from whence the Aurora 32-gun ship was lately launched, is now vacant and another will become so when the Carysfort is launched. Propose setting up a ship of 50-guns on each slip to replace the Ruby and Portland, one taken to pieces and the other sold. List of 10 ships which have been lost or sold and not replaced. Some of those on foreign Service are old and may need a rebuild and ask if any should be built in the current year by contract in private yards, except those which could be set up at Deptford.
