Philip Stephens. Mr. Purdy has sent a certificate from the Victualling Office that he had no benefit in the victualling of the Tweed until the 14th August 1763, when he appeared on board, although he was entered for wages from May, the date of his warrant. Mr. McCallam, the former Purser had the victualling to that time. Opine Mr. Purdy should not be required to make James Johnston the acting Purser any allowance as we proposed, but that he may be paid as able on the Tweed's books.
