Philip Stephens. John Vallance, who belonged to the Milford and conducted a Prize taken by her, by Captain Reynold's order, to Bristol and from there by land to Plymouth, received from the Collector of Customs at Bristol, money towards the expenses of the journey which he has had to repay. No instances are found of allowing conduct money is such cases as all expenses should be defrayed by the Agents of prizes. It seems reasonable he should be allowed what he can prove to have paid not exceeding the usual conduct money of a penny a mile for each man
