Description

Philip Stephens. Messrs. Ommaney and Marsh have written that William Light acted as Carpenter of the Norfolk when he and his servants were borne as supernumeraries for victuals only and asks to be paid by bill. The proper Carpenter was on duty ashore and was paid for the time. How he is borne on the books of the Salisbury and Norfolk. Opine Light should be paid by bill as the Carpenter ashore was paid as Master Shipwright and as he would have been entitled to pay for the Salisbury till his arrival in England, if he had not been appointed to Act in the Norfolk
