Philip Stephens. The cutter building at Beare is to be purchased by a Mr. Bowles, which is reported as being a fine vessel by Lieutenant John Cartwright. Commissioner Rogers was asked to send one of the Master Shipwright's Assistants and the Clerk of the Survey to report on her dimensions, tonnage and qualities but they found no such cutter building at Beare and the builder has moved to Bridport and not yet laid the keel of the cutter.
