Philip Stephens. Captain Edward Vernon Yates, has applied for dispensation for the want of the books and papers for passing his accounts, for part of the time he commanded the Wasp, when he was ill at Bath and Captains Collier and Boyes commanded her in his absence. He commanded the Wasp from June 1760 to August 1761 for which he has delivered muster books and has passed a regular account to June 1761. As the Boatswain and Carpenter have passed their accounts for that time and there is no imprest against him, opine the dispensation can be granted
