John Clevland. Mr. Nicholas has written on behalf of Samuel Ellis, to be paid for the time he acted as Master of the Diligence Captain Osborn has certified, Mr. Ellis appears to have acted as Master from May to August 1760 and from January to May 1761, by order of Commodore Hanway, Rear Admiral Durell and himself, when he was borne as Master's Mate and the proper Master is also borne and paid to April 1761 so he can only be paid on the books from that time to the following May. He can be paid the remainder of the time by bill
